Our History

Delima was born from a family passion for the maker world and the deep desire to help those who create with their hands and imagination .

It all began during the pandemic, in the basement of a house in a rural village in Gibraltar. Juan Mena, a 3D printing and laser cutting enthusiast, launched this project with his wife, Ana. During those difficult months, the maker world mobilized like never before to collaborate with the most needy groups: healthcare workers, security forces, nursing homes, and more. Juan was the regional coordinator for Coronavirus Makers in Andalusia, and from there, he further understood the importance of having quick and affordable access to materials.

What began as a personalized goods store soon took a turn. The difficulty in finding quality materials at a good price pushed Juan and Ana to look for solutions for their fellow makers—many of whom were also friends. Thus, the Maker section was born, offering materials designed for those who, like them, needed affordable resources to continue creating.

For three years, Juan and Ana sustained this project with great effort and dedication. But due to lack of time and new priorities, they were forced to temporarily close the online store.

Just a few months later, I decided I couldn't let something so beautiful die. My name is Lidia Mena, and I'm the daughter of Juan and Ana. After finishing my studies, I felt it was the perfect time to take a step forward. With the support of my father, the help of my mother, and a strong desire to continue adding value to the maker world, I reopened the store with a new identity: Delima , which stands for De Lidia Maker .

Today, at Delima, we focus on the retail sale of methacrylate (or acrylic, PMMA), designed for creators, businesses, and laser cutting enthusiasts. We're gradually moving away from product customization and toward what truly drives us: helping you bring your ideas to life.

I'm the CEO of Delima. And if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that we are the channel for you to create your universe, your space, your world .
